Hi all,
I'm looking for an alternative to replace Outlook on my office laptop. My company has an exchange server in place and I cannot get around this.
So shared calendars, tasklists, addresses and mail has to be supported in some way. I do not mind using more than one tool for that but Outook sickens me in a way I just say "Enough".
Thanks for any suggestions.

This is for a Windows laptop?
I can think of a few alternatives that run on Linux, but not offhand for Windows. _________________ Take back the PC! http://www.goodbyemicrosoft.net |

Sorry, forgot to mention.
Yes, this is Windows XP. As with the Exchange, this is given - sadly. |

Brad, what are the Linux alternatives? They could be worth listing in case somebody has compiled them for Windows or does so in the future.
Thanks,

Well, when I Googled "open source outlook exchange" it turned up this review of Scalix, which seems to exist in both commercial and "community" editions.
And osalt.com says that Evolution will operate as an Exchange client.
That's about where I quit looking. Unfortunately, neither of those seems to run under Windows. (I know there's a project to port Evolution to Windows, but I don't know its current status, or if it includes the Exchange capability.) _________________ Take back the PC! http://www.goodbyemicrosoft.net |
